About this position
The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining Binary City’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of all systems. This role involves implementing IT policies, troubleshooting issues, and supporting users to optimise system performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and software applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation and availability.
- Implement and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Perform system backups and recovery procedures.
- Install and configure hardware and software components.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades.
- Provide technical support and assistance to users.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in system administration.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Or a minimum NQA Level 6 qualification in IT.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in system administration (or related IT field).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified System Engineer, CompTIA Network+ or A+, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience with Google Workspace (Business) environment
- Proven proficiency in SQL (MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) administration, and management skills
- Experience administering and managing web servers is an added advantage
- Proven proficiency working with Windows Active Directory, and/or Azure AD (or hybrid environments)
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux machines and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Proven experience (min. 1year) with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- HCL Notes/Domino administration is an added advantage
- Proven proficiency with WAN, and enterprise level networks
