Binary City Time Version 2
Binary City Time Version 2
This is the second version of Binary CityTime. This version brings about new features as well as better performance and stability. To log into the Time v2 application, you can use the following hyperlink: https://time-v2.bcity.me
How do I login?
To log into Time version 2, you make use of the exact same credentials (Email & Password) previously used for Time version 1.
What happens if I log into Time version 1?
If you accidentally or intentionally try to log into your Time version 1 profile, you will be greeted with a message informing you that your profile has been suspended. In that instance, there is no need to panic. Simply follow the link above and log into Time Version 2
What happened to my clocking data
Simply, nothing. Clocking data was not touched, tempered with or manipulated within any way. The entire profile (all previous and present data included) was simply copied from one instance on the server to another. Also, all data that was recorded while the migration was in progress was temporarily stored on the Biometric devices. After the Time Comm service was restored, all data pulled through to BC Time.
First things first
Upon logging in for the first time, it is important that you change the time zone of the profile. Failure to do so will result in ALL times displayed in BC Time being 2 hours behind. This is because the default time zone is (GMT+00:00).
How To change Timezone
1. Navigate to My Account in the top bar (Next to Manage & Reports)
2. Select Profile, in the first column.
3. Go to the Language & Region tab then choose a region that best suits you
Find below, a short list of regions that might best suit you:
(GMT+02:00)Africa/Windhoek
(GMT+02:00)Africa/Johannesburg
(GMT+02:00)Africa/Gaborone
(GMT+02:00)Africa/Harare
What's new?
1. Overtime Approvers
There is now a new feature named overtime approvers where Managers/HR personnel can accept or deny overtime hours. How it works is that it can be set so that a certain amount of hours can be pre-approved automatically by the system, and everything exceeding the pre-approved hours requires supervisor/HR/Manager intervention.
Overtime approval requires a few things to be setup before it can be used.
●Overtime Approvers-People who will have the permissions to approve and deny overtime
●The feature would have to be configured in the overtime rule/s
●Training on approval reports.
Overtime Approval is managed from one of the newer reports, the Employee,OvertimeApprovers
2. Controllers
Another addition that came with the update is Controllers. Controllers are logical access control devices that allow custom installations and simulation with other devices, such as alarms, smoke and motion detectors, biometric devices etc. If you currently do not have a controller but would like to expand your setup and include other devices or generally connect all your devices from a centralized point, this would be something to consider.
Please find below, diagram on what controllers can connect to, other items not included in image
3. SMS Feature
Time version 2 includes an SMS feature under employees where a user can assign/enter a cell phone number under an employee. This can be the employees own number, or the department supervisors number. Every time the employee clocks in and out, an SMS will be sent out to the number specified informing of a clock in or out, the person, on which device, as well as the time of occurrence.
All new features are available on the Premium Version of BC Time version 2, please do make contact with your sales representative to find out more.
